Christian Herrlich has 25 years’ experience in the digitalisation of well-known corporations and companies. He has led numerous digital transformations and successfully implemented large-scale technology programmes to drive forward future business strategies.

As the former Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Royal Mail Group (RMG), he laid the digital foundation for the five-year business transformation plan called “Journey 2024”. He formed and implemented a comprehensive IT strategy that created significant added value through the digitalisation of the company in the Operations, Commercial and Back Office areas. With a comprehensive programme to improve cyber security, Christian Herrlich increased the resilience of RMG in face of a deteriorating cyber threat situation globally.

Previously, Christian Herrlich was CIO of GLS for six years. He designed and implemented the transformation of GLS’s traditionally B2B-centric parcel business to B2C. In addition, he successfully completed the introduction of a pan-European digital platform to enable seamless cross-border parcel logistics.

Christian Herrlich worked at Deutsche Post DHL Group for a total of 13 years, most recently as a member of the executive board and CIO of DHL PAKET Deutschland. He implemented an IT transformation programme to build the digital platform for the parcel business and renewed the strategic technology platform of the Retail / Branches division.
